Interview with Shri Muni Raji - Autumn Navaratri 2005

Please find below an interview with Muni Raji which was held by the German devotees at the 2005 autumn Navaratri in Chilianaula. We thought you might find this interesting.

Information about the first question: In Germany one speaks of a ‘light nourishing process’, which lasts 21 days. It’s purpose is to weane people off the need for food and enable them to live off prana alone.

Question to Muniraji: in order to become independent from the need to eat and drink and thus become better equipped to survive catastrophes, is it necessary that we undergo this ‘light nourishment process’?

Muni Raji: No, this is not at all necessary.

Question: Is this process harmful?

Muniraji: No

Question: What do you think is necessary?

Muniraji: Do and die ! Question: What can we do to create more peace amongst ourselves, so that we are more like one family?

Muni Raji: Friction is not such a bad thing. The way it works with friction is this: first friction, then peace.Through friction, peace is created.

Question: I have heard that envy and jealousy destroy good karma.

Muni Raji: I keep saying to you: “Do Japa”

Question: Angela (who runs the ashram in Rieferath) reports that there are hardly any people living in the Rieferath ashram, in fact when she gets back from India she will be totally alone. What shall she do?

Muni Raji: It is NECESSARY that all of you HELP and VISIT!

Question: When I go back to Germany I will re-enter the German energie field. This is difficult, demanding and filled with anxiety.

Muniraji: This is the situation in the whole world now, and it will even increase. The fundamental law of nature is change. That’s why everything is in flux. We can’t always have peace, in the same way that there can’t always be unrest. When things are bad, we remember the good times. We have to stay with what we have learnt. ( for example, while there is unrest on the outside, we do our spiritual practice to create peace within ourselves).

Question: The Gayatri Mantra: would you recite it for the benefit of a country?

Muni Raji: No, only for yourself. The Maha Mantra OM NAMAHA SHIVAY is good for country and for oneself.

Question: Is it important to know what exactly is happening during puja (i.e. the durga puja)?

Muni Raji: One should always try to understand what it is about, but whether you really understand is a question of divine grace. At the end of the day, nothing belongs to us. We take something, such as fruits for the puja for example, and give them back to the one who really ownes them. The most important thing is not to violate the laws of nature. The reason why there is such chaos on earth and all that which is going to happen, is because of humanity having disobeyed the laws of nature. For example there is a fruit tree and someone comes along and chops it down. One should only take as much as one needs and not waste anything. Nature gives everything in abundance and we are asked to use it in the right way.

Question: How do I know what and how much I need. Where is the boundary? Muni Raji: That’s exactly what you need to understand. Once you have understood that, there is nothing else to be done. Question: In the West how can I live in harmony with nature?

Muni Raji: Through RIGHT ACTION you can achieve anything. It is in your capacity to create a good/desired situation, independent what is going on around you. It depends what you do with it. The healing remedy for everything is called LOVE.

Question: How do I bring Babaji’s teachings into our everyday German, Christian life?

Muni Raji: Babaji said this: SIMPLICITY. TRUTH, LOVE. This is what we need to increasingly manifest around us. This is what it’s all about.

Question: How can I love like you?

Muni Raji: Why not just try it. Man learns until the last breath.

Question: You have once said during an interview: “We need to realise that we are NOTHING – this realisation will solve all problems.” Can you please elaborate on that?

Muni Raji: The issue is ego problems. If we think we are the ones who act, we are deluded. Then we have a problem. Everything around us does exist yes, but in the end it is nothing.

Question: The fact that everything will come to an end and nothing will remain creates much angst and existential fear. How do I deal with that?

Muni Raji: In order to destroy this fear of the fact that nothing will remain, people do spiritual practices. However there is something that will remain and it is that which one can depend on, it is the nucleus, the core of creation itself. If you rely on the core of creation, your fear will dissolve.

Question: Is it necessary that one processes every kind of fear, or do some fears dissappear by themselves?

Muni Raji: It is possible they dissappear by themselves. If you focus on the one who has created fear, then that one can also dissolve it. Question: Is there anything specific we can do for Germany?

Muni Raji: Why not? Don’t think someone else is going to come who will make things better for us. The country bolongs to everybody. One peson alone cannot do anything for the country. When everybody changes inside and responds and acts differently, then the general situation will change.

Question: What does it mean that Autumn Navaratri (2005) occurred between a sun and a moon eclipse?

Muni Raji: It’s not a good sign, look at the earth quake in Pakistan. The prognosis of the stars is not good. From such a constellation nothing good can come.

Question: People deal differently with a sun eclipse. In Germany we look into the sky. Is this harmful?

Muni Raji: Every person in the world is equally effected by it. Here people stay in their houses and do japa in order to diminish it’s effects. The planets effect every being. The future is not getting better.

Question: For how long will it’s effect last?

Muni Raji: What will come now, is not good. Nothing good will come after.

Question: The sun eclipse coincided with the day of the German reunification. Does this have a special meaning?

Muni Raji: No.

Muni Raji’s last words were:

“Everybody will now see how times are changing. Nature gives the signs – things are getting worse, not better. Nature is changing. Feelings of anger and frustration are on the increase. There is nothing better we can do than to continuously repeat the name of God”.

This year’s AGM - Saturday 20 May 2006This year’s AGM is being held at Blaengors on Saturday 20th May 2006 at 2.00pm. The date hasdeliberately been moved to May to encourage more people to attend with the better weather.We’re going to make it a weekend of aartis, and fires, and of celebration, inspiration, ideas andcreativity. This will include dance, garden design and development, a fundraising forum, discussiongroups and information on all the building plans.You will be written to again 3 weeks before the AGM date with a formal ‘notice’ of meeting plusagenda. But right now we’re asking you to put the date in your diary and to consider how you mightlike to be involved in the year aheadThe year aheadThe HSUK is just entering a period of big change and development. Last autumn we won ourplanning appeal, so now we have permission to build the temple and extend the house. Thisenables us all to realise the long-term plan of developing Blaengors as a thriving and sustainablecentre of community, sustainability and humanity in the UK.FundraisingA major fundraising campaign is beginning - to raise money from public funds, trust funds andBabaji devotees and sympathisers worldwide to develop land, buildings and community. Babajiwilling, we hope for success in this project, but we also need your help, your involvement and yourinspiration!How to get involvedBabaji offered various tools to help in our understanding and realisation, most particularly thereality of our own hearts: ‘like spreading light by lighting one candle from another, all around a room, so we should spread love from heart to heart’There are many ways you can get involved. You could become part of the fundraising effort, join inthe pilgrimage walk in the summer, decide to hold a regular aarti in your area, help in tree plantingat Blaengors, be creative, share your ideas with others. These three we are bound to fillunder the Charity Commission regulations:

and in addition we have identified five further roles of:

- site manager (managing and supervising the building work when it begins) - land co-ordinator - membership secretary - newsletter editor - fundraising co-ordinator

In all we have to appoint a minimum of 7 trustees for the year ahead. Separate efforts are being made to fill the ‘live- in’ roles of pujar(in)i, ashram manager and caretaker - if you know of anyone who would be interested in these roles please contact us. However, we are currently in discussion with a couple who are very interested in the pujarini and caretaker roles.)

As a first step we’d like you to consider if you are interested in being involved in any of these

positions/roles, or would like to nominate someone else to any of them. There is no closing date fornominations (apart from the AGM date of 20th May), but those received by 19th April 2006 will beindicated in the AGM agenda which will be mailed out 21 days before the AGM.To be nominated you must be a current paid up member of the HSUK. (Are you paid-up? - if you’renot sure please contact the membership secretary - Pete Dale - on 01766 530638.)If you are inspired to stand for a role, the nomination form asks that you be proposed by one othercurrent paid-up HSUK member and to write, say, a 100-word statement about who you are andwhat would be your vision for this role. The formal AGM invite letter (3 weeks before the meeting)will list all the nominations received by that date plus the personal statements. If you are nominatedplease attend the AGM. Elections will then take place at the meeting.Nominations are sought for all officerships and roles now (as above). Support is also sought for small working party groups eg: - fundraising - land/gardens
