About this book
A Sanskrit hymn of praise to Haiḍākhāṇḍī Bābājī in eight "bouquets" (stabaka), each verse carrying the author's own Hindi Ūrmilā Commentary. Opens with a biography of the old Bābā of Kumaon by Jagdīś Prasād, M.A., then follows the hymn through the examination of Essence, the Divine Form, the Mystery, and the rescue of those who take refuge, before three cantos watch Bābājī present — in the hidden dress of a wandering ascetic — at every scene of Rām's life, at Śiva's own city of Kāśī, and at Kṛṣṇa's Vṛndāvan. The last bouquet returns to Bābājī's own āśram at Haiḍākhān, with first-hand, named-witness accounts of his wonders.
Translated from a 256-page scan with no text layer, in full: OCR'd, verified page by page, then rendered into English under human direction. The verse numbering had been broken by OCR misreadings in every canto and was corrected against the scanned page images before translation. Every Sanskrit and Hindi verse carries its transliteration, then a poetic English rendering, then the commentary.
