Svāmī Fakīrānand opens not with Bābājī but with himself: his own birth at Dhanyān, in the hills of Almoṛā, in 1912. What follows is part narrative of Bābājī’s līlās — His divine play — during the 1970–1984 manifestation and the years after, part question-and-answer with devotees, and part the devotees’ own letters describing what they received. The book’s own introduction claims it holds līlās never published before in any language.

What is inside

There is no chapter division — one continuous account opening with an invocation, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and a statement of the book’s premise: that the supreme God manifests from time to time for the salvation of mankind, and that in this age “Lord Śiva manifested as Haiḍākhān Bābā… for a very short span of time, from 17 June 1970 to 14 February 1984.” The book goes on to record that on Bābājī’s mahāsamādhi — a great soul’s final, conscious leaving of the body — He appointed Śrī Mahāmunirāj to lead the Haiḍākhāṇḍī Samāj, both in worldly and spiritual matters, alongside Śrī Viṣṇudatt Miśra, a Sanskrit scholar and Ācārya.

A translation across three languages

This book’s path to English is worth knowing. Svāmī Fakīrānand wrote in Hindi. Natascia Valentini (“Tara Bianca”) translated it into Italian. This library then translated the Italian into English in 2026 — a translation of a translation, undertaken because no direct Hindi-to-English version could be found.

That chain left real damage to repair. The translator’s note is candid about it: where the Italian had clearly misread an English word underneath, the sense was restored; a garbled description of the Śrīchakra and a mis-transcribed couplet from the Rāmcharitmānas were identified and corrected against their known originals rather than translated as corrupted text. This is one of the more heavily reconstructed editions on this shelf, and the reconstruction is disclosed rather than hidden.

Who wrote it

Svāmī Fakīrānand, known to devotees as Svāmījī, was a direct disciple of Śrī Haiḍākhān Bābājī. Unlike Mahendra Mahārāj’s writings, which look back at Bābājī’s earlier appearance from before 1970, Fakīrānand’s record comes from someone present during the manifestation itself, and continues into the years afterward — including the succession he records at Bābājī’s mahāsamādhi.

What you are actually reading

  • The English is this library’s own translation, made from the Italian in 2026, with known transmission errors identified and corrected against their sources.
  • An Italian edition is offered alongside it.
  • This is a translation of a translation — a real limitation, disclosed openly rather than smoothed over.

If you are deciding where to start

Read this if you want an eyewitness account of the 1970–1984 manifestation itself, including what happened at its end and who was appointed to carry the community forward — material not duplicated in Mahendra Mahārāj’s earlier writings.

Read Parichayāmṛt first if you have not yet met Bābājī at all; this book assumes some familiarity and moves quickly into direct testimony rather than introduction.
